Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling in Houston
We build for the ground we are standing on — slab-on-grade over expansive clay, humidity year round, hard water on every fixture. That changes what gets specified, and it is why the work lasts.

What makes a Houston remodel different
Slabs move seasonally over clay soil, which cracks tile and binds doors. Humidity swells particleboard cabinet boxes until they never recover. Hard water etches polished stone and scales glass. Every one of those changes a specification — not a preference.
What we do
Kitchens
Cabinet-and-counter refresh through to taking down a wall and rebuilding the room around how you actually cook.
Bathrooms
Showers, tubs and vanities — and the waterproofing behind the tile that decides whether any of it lasts.
Cabinetry & built-ins
Sized to your walls and your appliances, in plywood that holds its dimension through a humid decade.
Commercial
Offices, clinics, retail and restaurants — in occupied and vacant space, phased around your trading hours.
How a project actually runs
1 · Measured site visit
We look at the room, the slab, the existing rough-in and what is behind the walls where we can. Measurements come before opinions.
2 · Scope and selections
A written scope naming materials, not adjectives. Selections finish before demolition, because cabinet and fixture dimensions drive every rough-in position.
3 · Permits where they apply
Houston has no zoning but does permit plumbing, electrical and structural work. Unincorporated Harris and Fort Bend differ, and deed restrictions may apply.
4 · Build in sequence
Demo, rough-in, inspection, waterproofing and flood test, then tile, then trim. Each stage leaves conditions the next can build on.
Why specification matters more here
Most remodeling advice is written for a temperate climate on a basement foundation. Very little of it applies on the Gulf Coast, and the differences are not cosmetic — they decide what fails, and when.
| Condition | What it does | What we specify |
|---|---|---|
| Expansive clay under slab-on-grade | Seasonal movement cracks tile and binds doors | Uncoupling or crack-isolation membrane, movement joints at every perimeter |
| High humidity year round | Swells particleboard at any exposed edge, permanently | Plywood cabinet boxes, sealed edges, exhaust sized to the room and ducted outside |
| Hard water | Scale on glass, etching on polished stone | Honed finishes where they suit, treated glass, fixture finishes that tolerate it |
| Post-tension slabs, post-1985 stock | Tendons cannot be cut blind to move a drain | Scan before any saw cut, or build the floor up instead |

Common questions
Do you handle permits?
Yes, where the jurisdiction requires them. The City of Houston does not zone, but plumbing, electrical and structural work is permitted and inspected. Unincorporated Harris County and Fort Bend County handle it differently, and a Katy or Fulshear address may also sit under deed restrictions or HOA review.
How far do you travel?
We work the Houston metro from the Energy Corridor — roughly 35 minutes out in each direction. That covers Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Fulshear, Spring, Tomball and Houston itself. Our service areas page lists every ZIP code.
Can you work in an occupied house?
Usually, and most of our work is. It changes sequencing and dust control rather than scope. We will tell you honestly which stages are disruptive and roughly when water or power has to be off.
What does a remodel cost?
It depends far more on structure and plumbing than on finishes. Moving a wall or relocating a drain in a slab is a different order of work from replacing what is already there. We give a real number after a measured visit, not a range over the phone.

Tell us the room and the goal. We measure on site, look at the slab and the existing rough-in, then quote.
Start with a measured site visit
We look at the slab, the existing rough-in and the room, then give you a scope you can compare against any other bid.
