The short answer
Most exterior failures on the Gulf Coast are flashing and termination details, not the cladding itself. Water gets in where two materials meet, and it is the transitions that decide how long the wall lasts.

Why the Gulf Coast is unforgiving outdoors
Wind-driven rain finds any un-lapped flashing. Ultraviolet load and humidity cycle sealants far harder than a temperate climate does. Clay soil moves the slab seasonally, which telegraphs into stucco as cracking and into masonry as stepped joints. And in parts of the metro, past flooding means the smart specification is tile over wood, raised outlets and closed-cell insulation.
Where these jobs go wrong
New cladding fitted over a failed or absent drainage plane. Sealant used as a substitute for flashing. Stucco patched without addressing what cracked it. Deck ledgers fastened without proper flashing at the band joist. Each of those looks finished on handover day and shows up two seasons later.
